Water Interruption Notice – Derby and Swartruggens (Borolelo Ext 4)

The Kgetlengrivier Local Municipality hereby informs all community members and stakeholders of ongoing water supply challenges affecting residents in Derby and Swartruggens (Borolelo Ext 4).


📍 Derby

The water interruption in Derby is due to damaged borehole pumps from some of the boreholes that supply water to the area.

Action Taken:

  • The Municipality is currently procuring replacement borehole pumps.
  • Delivery of the new pumps is awaited.
  • An estimated timeframe for water restoration will be communicated once the pumps have been delivered.

📍 Swartruggens – Borolelo Ext 4

The water supply disruption in Borolelo Ext 4 is caused by a damaged motor at the Borolelo pump station.

Action Taken:

  • The Municipality is in the process of procuring a replacement motor.
  • Delivery of the motor is currently awaited.
  • The estimated restoration time will be confirmed upon delivery and installation of the motor.

The Municipality is treating both matters with urgency and is committed to restoring normal water supply as soon as possible.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate the continued patience and cooperation of all affected residents.
