Today, the Office of the Mayor, led by Hon. Mayor Thabo Jacobs, held a successful community outreach event in celebration of 67 Minutes for Change at the Gola o Bone Old Age Project.
Fulfilling a promise made to the elderly during last year’s visit, the initiative focused on delivering meaningful improvements to the facility. The day’s activities included:
- Painting the organization’s house
- Installing new interior and exterior lights, including floodlights
- Donating blankets and gardening equipment to the elders
- Cleaning the surrounding environment
- Assisting with renovations to a room still under construction
- Scheduling roof repairs to be completed within the week
This outreach effort reflects the Mayor’s ongoing commitment to community upliftment and compassionate leadership. The elders expressed sincere gratitude for the support and care shown, making the day a memorable and joyful occasion for all involved.
