Severe Weather Alert: Torrential Rain Across North West Province, Public Urged to Exercise Caution

TORRENTIAL RAIN ACROSS NW PROVINCE

Disaster management teams across the province remain on high alert following heavy rains throughout the province. Currently no major incidents have been reported however some of the roads are flooded.

The Provincial Disaster Management Centre continues to monitor the situation. South African Weather Service has issued severe weather alert for disruptive rainfall over North West until Thursday this week.

Motorists and pedestrians are advised to be extra vigilant and cautious on flooded roads. They must also avoid crossing flooded bridges, streams and rivers as it might be dangerous to do so. Motorists must put their headlights on to avoid accidents.

The public must continue to monitor weather alerts on radio, television and other communication platforms. For any incident, please contact the Provincial Disaster Management Centre on 018 388 3888 or 0800 018 000.
